Is California Holding Your Money?
The state of California is currently holding $2.6 billion in “Unclaimed Property” belonging to approximately 5.2 million individuals and organizations.

The property is primarily deposit accounts, which were left inactive by the owner for more than three years. By law, all financial institutions must send your money to the State if there has been no activity in your account for three years. Dormant accounts may have out-dated addresses, so notices never arrive.

If you think you may be one of the millions of Californians owed money by the State, visit their web site at  http://www.sco.ca.gov  to search for your name and submit an unclaimed property form. Or, request a claim form from:

Chief, Bureau of Unclaimed Property
P.O. Box  942850
Sacramento, CA 94250-5873
