Make Multifactor Authentication Work for You Clever Scammers Put Your Money at Risk Financial Preparation Nominations of New Online Calculators
|
Make Multifactor Authentication Work for You When federal mandates required multifactor account authentication (MFA) systems for financial service providers, the added online security made some users happy, but left others frustrated. Once you're enrolled in MFA, here are some options to customize your log-in process.
On the PIN entry screen, scroll to the bottom and click on "register
this computer." A person logging on from an unregistered computer will
still be required to answer one of your personalized challenge questions.
Log on to your account (using the graphic keypad) and click the green MFA button at the top of your screen to display your questions and settings. Scroll down to "Graphic Keypad" and use the dropdown menu to select "Do not show graphic keypad."
Important: This turns off the keypad for log-ins from any computer. Before you travel, please remember to turn on the keypad. Hotel and other public computers frequently are infected with spyware that records your account number and PIN when you log on. If you need assistance with online access or Multifactor Authentication enrollment, please visit any SESLOC branch or telephone us at (805) 543-1816 or (805) 227-1030. We'll be glad to help. |
