Inactive Account Reminder
The State of California considers your account “unclaimed property” if you have not performed a transaction or had written contact with your financial institution for three years. The law requires businesses to send this “unclaimed property” to the state of California for safekeeping. If your account is at risk, we will notify you in writing at the address we have on file. You must perform a transaction or notify us in writing that you wish to keep your account active or that you wish to close the account and receive a check. Is Your Address Current? Unfortunately, many inactive account notices never reach our members. Addresses and phone numbers become out-dated and as a result, our efforts to contact some members fail. If you’ve recently moved or changed phone numbers, we require a written notice that includes your signature. Stop by a branch, mail or fax us a written request, or use the form on our website to notify us. In the Tools box, click Download Forms. Whatever method you choose, your signature is essential to help us protect your account from fraud. |
