New Arroyo Grande Branch Opens
We’ve officially cut the ribbon and opened the doors to our beautiful
new facility in Arroyo Grande. Visit our new branch at 1399 East Grand
Avenue, just one short block from our previous location. Log on to your
account in our eBranch center or bring in a bill and we’ll help you set up
a Bill Pay account. Our new “Smart” ATM requires no envelopes; it will
even count your cash and total your deposited checks, printing check
copies on your receipt. So stop by and say hello.
Roth IRA Changes for 2010
Prior to 2010, taxpayers with modified adjusted
gross incomes above $100,000 and married
taxpayers filing separately could not convert a
traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. Effective January 1,
2010, anyone can convert to a Roth IRA. Ordinary
income taxes will be due on the amount of the
conversion, but if you convert in 2010, you may
choose to split the tax bill between 2011 and
2012.* The new law does not eliminate the income
eligibility requirements to open or contribute to
a Roth IRA. Remember, you have until April 15,
2010, to open and contribute to an IRA for the
2009 year. SESLOC IRA accounts are federally
insured to $250,000.
April Is Youth Savings Month
Last April our National Youth Savings Challenge
generated an impressive 385 deposits by SESLOC’s
young members, who saved more than $36,000.
This year, April 18-24 is Credit Union Youth
Week, when we celebrate young members with
games and prizes.
