SESLOC Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors is comprised of 7 members who are elected to serve 3-year terms. A call for Applications for Nomination is announced on October 1 each year. In accordance with Credit Union bylaws, the SESLOC Board Chairman appoints a Nominating Committee to nominate at least one eligible member for each vacancy on the Board.

The Nominating Committee has nominated these members to fill two Board vacancies.

Candidate Statements

Barbara Melvin, Incumbent - Member since 1974

I strongly support SESLOC’s philosophy of doing its best to meet member needs while remaining financially strong. I retired from Cal Poly State University after 37 years, where I last served as Human Resources Executive Director. I bring extensive knowledge of personnel and organizational issues, employment laws, salary/benefits management, policy development and implementation. My experience in conflict resolution, mediation, hiring and compensation practices and other HR related areas have been valuable assets in my 24 years as a Board member and previous seven years on the Credit Committee. I have a strong commitment to SESLOC Federal Credit Union and look forward to continuing my service to members in today’s ever-changing financial environment.

Charlene Rosales, Incumbent - Member since 2015

It has been an honor to serve on the Board of Directors for SESLOC Federal Credit Union. My past experience on the Supervisory Committee prepared me well for the fiduciary responsibilities that are required of Board members. Other Board experience includes the SLO Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of SLO Daybreak and Woods Humane Society. My most recent professional roles have enabled me to have great connectivity and understanding of the needs of the regional business community and the general community. A personal passion for serving positively impactful organizations is at the root of why I wish to serve on this Board.
