SESLOC Mortgage Loan Officer: I am delighted to be a part of the SESLOC team. I bring over a decade of experience helping people save money by refinancing their mortgages or helping them get a loan for their new home.
Little known fact: I have spent many years rescuing hard to place dogs. When I first moved to California in 2006, I brought six dogs with me, and as I lost one, I would find another in need of special attention. I now have two, a Basset named Winston and a Chesapeake named Sadie.
What do you love most about the Central Coast? The weather in this area is glorious, especially after living on the North Coast where it is foggy and rainy. Plus I am close to my family.
Weekends include: Mostly R&R; long walks, reading, spending time with my family and working in my new yard.
What is your most memorable MLO moment? I have twenty years of experience in mortgages, but one of the highlights was about two years ago when I helped an 83-year-old woman save her home. Not only did I refinance her mortgage to get her to a payment she could handle on a fixed income, but I also helped her with the deferred maintenance and required repairs.
What is the one thing you want a first-time homebuyer to know? Get your ducks in a row by meeting with a Loan Officer early in your process, so you will know exactly what is needed and what to expect. Don’t hesitate to take part in homebuyer education courses. These courses will assist you in the budgeting process and give you an idea of the requirements needed for new home ownership. Don’t overbuy. You can always trade up from your starter home.
What do you want someone to know who is refinancing? Homeownership represents the largest investment in your life. Your equity is an asset, so use it to the best advantage. Refinancing can lower your rate and payment, or give you needed funds for home improvements. Look at all your options to see if the path you are on is the best for your personal financial situation.
