We’re partnering with News Channel 12 to honor nonprofit volunteers who make our community thrive. Each month, we’re choosing a different nonprofit and asking them to select a valuable volunteer to receive the SESLOC Cares for Community Award. We are thrilled to introduce our latest recipient, Jodi Mrozek, a volunteer with Marian Regional Medical Center.
We are proud to present the SESLOC Cares for Community Award to Jodi Mrozek.
A retired dental assistant who has lived across the United States and as far away as Okinawa, Japan, Jodi chose to live on the Central Coast. Not one to stay still, she began volunteering at Marian Regional Medical Center and Mission Hope Cancer Center.
The former president of Marian Auxiliary Leadership has dedicated nearly 10,000 volunteer hours in more than 18 years with the hospital and affiliated organizations. When she divided her time between the two organizations, Jodi has done everything from providing relief for caregivers at Mission Hope to supporting new mothers at Marian’s obstetrics floor. Her work has also touched nearly every part of the organization, including hospice care, the hospital foundation, and Mission Hope’s Day of Hope
Currently, she serves in Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery, a role she finds deeply rewarding because she can offer genuine empathy to patients who are navigating experiences she and her husband of over 60 years have faced themselves. She strives to ensure every patient and visitor feels welcomed and comfortable, believing that a small act of kindness can brighten someone’s most difficult day.
From hospice care to outpatient surgery, she offers compassion, comfort, and reassurance to patients and families during life’s most difficult moments. Her servant’s heart and unwavering kindness remind us that even the smallest act of caring can make a lasting difference.
Congratulations, Jodi, on being recognized as SESLOC’s Community Cares Award recipient!
