Bees

Summer Animal Adventures at SESLOC

Things got a little wild at SESLOC HQ this summer — first a bee swarm that took up residence in the southside entrance to our headquarters building, and then we rescued an abandoned baby kitten.

When we discovered the bees moved in , we contacted a local bee expert — Tim from Ball Bee Company, — to carefully remove and rehome the hive. It took several tries as the bees kept finding ways to return and sneak back in. It was a bit of a process to keep the bees safe and happy, and we’re pleased to report that our bees were successfully removed on September 29. As an added bonus, Tim retrieved several jars of honey to share with our staff.

SESSYOn September 11, our Member Business Loans team heard the cries of a kitten in the bushes near the soccer field adjacent to our headquarters and quickly retrieved her. Now named Sessy, the weeks old kitten is quickly adjusting to her new life at home with a staff member, getting the care and bottle-feeding she needs. Plus, she’s getting plenty of play time and snuggles.
