Thank You For Supporting Our Local Food Banks!

SESLOC hosted a fundraiser for local food banks in May for the second year in a row. SESLOC, employees, and members raised over $14,000 combined for the SLO Food Bank and Food Bank of Santa Barbara County. Each dollar donated buys enough food for 8 meals, thanks to the Food Banks’ network of partners.

This local nonprofit supports children and youth in foster care, as well as families struggling with homelessness and unhealed trauma in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties this holiday season.

More Than 460 Students Complete the Financial Scholars Program During the 2019-2020 School Year

SESLOC is the proud sponsor of EverFi’s Financial Scholars program, which provides financial education for Central Coast high school students. During the 2019-2020 school year, the COVID-19 pandemic drove an unprecedented level of school closures, especially on the Central Coast. SESLOC Financial Scholars proved to be a valuable supplement to teachers’ remote learning plans.

Even prior to the current COVID and economic crisis, 1 in 6 people in SLO County and 1 in 4 in Santa Barbara County struggled with food insecurity. Many of those in need are seniors and children.
