Since 2019, SESLOC has provided practical, online financial education by sponsoring EverFi’s Financial Scholars program. This learning module is free to educators and goes over real financial scenarios students will face in the world, including budgeting, credit, taxes, and financing higher education.
In the 2024-2025 school year, we were proud to partner with classrooms across our region to help high school students get a head start on building strong money habits. Here is the impact SESLOC left with students throughout the past school year.
2024-2025 Program Results:
- Active participation from 11 high schools and 23 teachers at:
- Arroyo Grande High School

- After the course, 88% of students say they are prepared to use a budget to manage spending and saving.
- Over 80% of students taking the course said afterwards they were better prepared to evaluate the quality and value of consumer goods they wanted to buy, identify different sources to finance their higher education, and evaluate the pros and cons of an insurance policy.
Since beginning the program:
- When the program launched in 2019, just four schools participated. Over the past six years, more than 15 high schools across California have participated.
- Over 4,700 students have participated in the program for over 16,000 hours of learning.
