The 2025-26 school year is back full swing, with over 62,000 students returning to classrooms across Northern Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. To help the curriculum get a jumpstart, SESLOC Credit Union offers Education Grants to qualifying projects across our field of membership.

In the spirit of “People Helping People,” SESLOC has awarded over $200,000 in grants since launching the program in 2013. To kickoff the school year, SESLOC has distributed around $6,700 to local teachers at 12 schools. Grants were used to support a variety of projects, including::

  • Central Coast New Tech High School: Creating a student-run garden for the high school, with supplies including native plants, vegetable seedlings, gloves, and garden soil.
  • Grover Beach Elementary: Purchasing evidence-based decodable books for elementary students who are struggling with reading.
  • El Camino Junior High School: Purchasing supplies to support STEM lesson plans on buoyancy, force, and friction.
  • Paloma Creek High School: Purchasing a drill for students to work on construction products to continue career technical education.
  • Fesler Junior High School: Supplies for their “Heartbeat Scholars” program, including stethoscopes, cuffs and blood pressure monitors to help students understand the circulatory system.
  • Judkins Middle School: Providing resources for in-classroom mental health service programs for students with emotional, social and behavioral challenges.

Our member-owners and community members can help us support local schools by sharing the grant application with teachers. And if you are a teacher looking for new ways to energize your classroom with a little extra support, apply today!
