by Team SESLOC

Every October, the digital security community comes together to observe National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Since its founding in 2004 by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cybersecurity Alliance, this month reminds us about how to be safe in an ever-changing digital world.

In the spirit of “People Helping People,” SESLOC marks National Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a variety of activities. Our entire team works together to help you stay aware of cyber threats and stay ahead of scams, keeping you, your family and your friends safe from digital attacks.

Some of the resources available throughout the year include:

In October 2025, we’re sharing these exclusive events with our members and the public to spread awareness of cybersecurity:

  • Shred Days: We’re helping you destroy secure documents to protect your personal information and prevent identity theft. Join us for these two events:
    • Saturday, October 4, 2025: Pulse Studio of the Arts Parking Lot, 1030 Huston St. C, Grover Beach
    • Saturday, October 18, 2025: SESLOC Paso Robles Branch, 705 Golden Hill Road, Paso Robles
  • Cybersecurity Webinar: Join us for an engaging and informative conversation where we dive into the world of cybersecurity and explore the latest in fraud and scams that threaten our digital lives. SESLOC’s own VP Information Technology Kevin Davies will share valuable insights, practical tips, and real-life examples to help you stay one step ahead of cybercriminals. Click here to register.

Cybersecurity awareness isn’t limited to just one month – being safe online is an ongoing commitment to educating yourself on the latest alerts and staying ahead of threats. We hope that the resources we share throughout October will help you stay safe in the digital world throughout the year.
