As we enjoy the cautious excitement of moving back to more normal operations, our ever-popular Shred Day drive-thru event happened on June 12 at the San Luis Obispo branch, and another one will pop up in the North County in the fall. We’d love to see more members choose paperless savings and loan statements so you have less to shred; electronic statements in Online Banking provide more secure recordkeeping right at your fingertips. But we’ll still offer Shred Days to help with your overall safe confidential document disposal.
We are so excited to be returning to the Cal Poly campus this fall with a full-service branch and ATM at the location next to the University Store and Starbucks. SESLOC and Cal Poly have a deep-rooted history together, starting with a presence on campus since 1955 and a satellite branch from 1990-2010. We have significantly expanded our products and digital services in the last ten years and are well-suited to step back in as an even stronger campus partner. SESLOC will expand paid internship opportunities for students to “Learn by Doing“ while working at SESLOC. Additionally, we are embracing the opportunity to improve the overall financial health of all students by exposing young adults to better budgeting and savings skills before they graduate and enter the workforce. Go Mustangs!
Our Visa Signature® Rewards credit card launched earlier this year. SESLOC Rewards points are now accruing more quickly for many members, as points earned with this new rewards credit card are combined with those that have been earned with your SESLOC debit card. We recently added a section on the right side of the Online Banking dashboard to easily track your points and watch them grow (they are also found under the Services menu on the mobile app, and at seslocrewards.org). As life opens back up again, consider redeeming the points for summer fun and travel, including airfare, hotels, amusement parks and more!
SESLOC is being cautious as we move to fewer restrictions, trying to create a safe environment for all members and employees. We extended our closing time to 5:00 p.m. from 4:00 p.m. We anticipate a more complete re-opening with additional hours by September. Our Plexiglas panels will stay up for the time being, and we ask you to still leave space between you and other members in the branch. Those who are not vaccinated must wear masks, and those members who still feel uncomfortable around larger groups in the branch are encouraged to wear masks as well. Fully vaccinated members and employees are no longer required to wear masks.
In close, this past quarter the SESLOC team faced the passing of a beloved team member Paul Manni, Program Manager with our auto dealerships. Paul had a unique way of being a friend to all and shared his positive spirit every day with those around him; we are committed to keep that spirit going in his memory.
