SESLOC and GreenPath Financial Wellness Help Members Clear Over $155,000 in Debt

One of the core tenets of credit unions are to put the financial wellness of our members and communities first in the spirit of People Helping People. That’s why we offer so many Everyday Member Benefits1, including our partnership with GreenPath Financial Wellness.

Member-owners of SESLOC Credit Union have access to unbiased, empathetic, one-on-one financial counseling from GreenPath Financial Wellness for free. Our members can get help with a wide range of financial topics, from setting a budget to planning to pay off student loans.  

In 2025, SESLOC members saved by reducing their debt with the help of GreenPath Financial Wellness. Together, we helped over 45 members with a combined $550,919 in debt negotiate their debt down to more manageable levels and payoff $115,395 to creditors after starting counseling in a Debt Management Program. By working with GreenPath, members settled their debt for roughly 20% of what they originally owed.

GreenPath Financial Wellness offers a full suite of services for SESLOC members, including managing finances with life changes (such as a new job or the birth of a child), homebuyer assistance, and other programs to achieve financial wellness.
