July 1st is the fiscal new year for many nonprofits and the perfect time to bring on new board members and officers. If those new officers are also going to be signers on the organization’s bank accounts, it’s important to let us know you have changes to make to prevent delays or disruptions in service.
This past May, we held a fundraiser for the SLO Food Bank and the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County. SESLOC, employees, and members raised a combined $13,217. Every dollar donated creates 7 meals, that’s over 92,000 nutritious, wholesome meals going back into our community to help end hunger!
While home grocery and meal delivery are fast and convenient, it can be helpful to weigh the pros and cons of the added expenses involved if it is a choice and not a necessity. Outlined here are the key cost considerations of home grocery deliveries, restaurant deliveries, and home-delivered meal subscription boxes.
SESLOC Spotlight highlights local organizations that make the Central Coast the best place to live. Today we’re shining the spotlight on Hope’s Village of SLO, a sustainable community of tiny houses and resources to help support our local unhoused veterans. Experts say it can take as little as three weeks to form a habit, and if you own or operate a business, make it a daily habit to check your account(s) activity in online banking. Review debits and credits as they occur so you can catch any fraudulent checks, duplicate check numbers or unauthorized ACH debits.

SESLOC is now scanning personal information cards (ID) if you do no have one already on file or when you have a new ID upon expiration. We have implemented this security measure for your protection as we work towards eliminating the need to provide a verbal password when visiting a branch. It will also speed up transactions, saving time while at the branch.
In alignment with the people-first philosophy of credit unions, SESLOC offers higher rates of return on savings accounts, lower rates on loans and lower fees than other financial institutions. With 53,000 members strong, we’re truly making a difference on the Central Coast. On October 17 we had special treats and gifts to celebrate members.
