SESLOC President & CEO Announces Retirement

From Your CEO — Spring 2019

As we head into the second quarter—putting the Central Coast’s much needed above-average rainfall behind us—we’re looking forward to the vigor and vitality of spring. You’ll enjoy new services that focus on convenience, ease-of-use and maximum access to your credit union. You may have already seen the self check-in kiosk in the branches or even booked an appointment online, both of which reduce your wait time. We’ve streamlined our online mortgage loan application, allowing you to securely upload required documents right from your smartphone and see funding status in real time. And of course, our members who frequent the Atascadero branch will now enjoy the remodeled branch. All of these upgrades are designed to provide quicker access that honors the value of your time.

It has been six months since we introduced HomeFREE Checking™, the best checking account in our market, and as you are accruing reward points from your SESLOC debit card purchases, I hope you are eagerly awaiting the chance to redeem your first, or even second, reward. In addition, if you’ve activated proactive monitoring for Identity Theft Services, the monthly email with your identity health check status should provide peace of mind. This combination of benefits is exclusive to SESLOC members, demonstrating our promise to offer low cost, valuable services.

As a financial institution founded by K-12 educators, SESLOC has a strong commitment to teachers and students. We believe if we better educate the students of today, they will become the financially responsible citizens of tomorrow. In cooperation with EVERFI, Inc, we are offering a financial education program free-of-charge to Central Coast high schools, called SESLOC Financial Scholars. This 6-hour, online program uses interactive, cutting-edge technology to engage students, and covers a range of topics including banking basics, credit and debit cards, investing and financing higher education. Two high schools currently benefiting from the program are Santa Maria and Ernest Righetti High. One of the best parts of working for, and belonging to, a credit union is the ability to support our community—especially at SESLOC where we provide educational tools for students that will last a lifetime.

You’ll see Team SESLOC participating in Family Care Network’s annual fundraising event, Miracle Miles for Kids. Look for us in the bright blue shirts along the 10k course or crossing the finish line. We love being local and supporting our neighbors. SESLOC…Bringing it Home!
