SESLOC Credit Union is proud to honor Logan Foster as a SESLOC Young Change Maker. Logan recently earned the award for his dedication to working as a big brother with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County on top of a long list of time he contributes to the community.
The SESLOC Young Change Maker Award is given to a young person or young professional under 40 doing significant work to benefit their community. Anyone can nominate a young person for the SESLOC Young Change Maker award on the Wild 106 website.
On the surface, Logan already has a demanding schedule as an MBA student at Cal Poly and a dedicated member of his fraternity. But one of his crowning achievements may be as a volunteer Big Brother in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County.
Since October 2024, he’s given his time and resources to his mentee (or Little) in many different ways. Through regular activities like hiking, sports and tutoring, Logan continually shows up to build a strong and trusting relationship with his Little. In turn, his Little has built resilience, confidence and a sense of accomplishment both in the classroom and in his personal life. They continually work together to build skills in math and spelling while building strong study habits. In their time together, Logan’s mentee increased his grades, built more confidence in school and developed better skills to navigate friendships and decision-making processes.
His work with his Little at Big Brothers/Big Sisters isn’t his first jump into community service. As an undergraduate student at Cal Poly, Logan co-founded and led the Men’s Health & Wellbeing Club on campus, served as the president of the Red Cross Club and grew it to over 180 active members and served as a juvenile hall volunteer. Logan was also a Division I athlete, playing linebacker on the Cal Poly Mustangs football team.
We congratulate Logan on his award as the latest SESLOC Young Change Maker!
