We’re pleased to announce that Lompoc High School has enrolled in the SESLOC Financial Scholars Program. SESLOC partners with EverFi , Inc, to underwrite the cost of the program for Central Coast schools. This six-hour course is completed entirely online and utilizes interactive, cutting-edge technology to engage students as they learn critical financial concepts and develop financial skills that help them become financially responsible citizens. The 7-module online curriculum covers topics like budgeting, credit, taxes, financing higher education, and more.

Since 2018, more than 1,400 students have completed the program. After completion, students report feeling more empowered, with one recent student noting, “I liked that this course taught me about my finances and important things like budgeting, credit, and various accounts I will eventually need….without this course I’m not sure where I would learn all this information.”

The Financial Scholars program is developed by EverFi, the country’s leading education technology provider. EverFi works directly with teachers to implement the online programs, which are offered anytime during the school year at no cost to the school. Once enrolled in the program, teachers have access to seven 20-35 minute lessons. To bring it to your school, email Lance Burbank, SESLOC’s EverFi Schools Manager, or SESLOC’s Carla Swift.
