We’re pleased to announce our brand new Local Rewards program — a celebration of local businesses that make our beautiful community so special. We partner with local businesses, then reward our members for shopping there by boosting their rewards points when they use their SESLOC debit or Visa Signature Rewards credit card. Are you sure that there are no hidden fees?

That’s correct! Our Local Rewards program is 100% complimentary for our participating businesses and you will receive boosted visibility to SESLOC’s 56,000 members!

Do I have to bank with SESLOC to participate in Local Rewards?

No. We have selected your business to participate mainly because our members love your products or services! In addition, your business has been an integral part of making the Central Coast a wonderful place to live, work and play. You’re a great fit for this program!

Can I have this program in all of my business locations?

We would love for all your locations within our footprint to be included! Currently, SESLOC does businesses in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara County — or in other words, from Gaviota tunnel all the way through Paso Robles.

How can my staff benefit from promoting this program?

Our SESLOC members already love your establishment and the benefits they receive from SESLOC membership. This is just one more benefit (1.5 x points) for shopping at your store! It’s a great benefit for the customer and your store. WIN!!

How much training will my staff need to promote this program and who is going to do the training?

Sue Roberts, our Community Engagement Manager, will be in charge of getting you and your staff information about the program and will be easily accessible if you have any other questions. She will provide you with our Local Rewards Business Kit, which includes a window cling, counter sign and website badges. SESLOC takes care of the bonus points automatically, so no “codes” need to be applied. Just train your staff to remind local shoppers to use their SESLOC cards, and come back for more!

What if I don’t like the program and don’t feel like it is doing anything for my business? Can I quit?

We would be sad to see you go, but if you do not feel like it is a benefit to your business, you can opt out anytime.

What is the difference between a credit union and a bank?

A credit union is financial institution, similar to a commercial bank, but it is a member-owned financial cooperative, controlled by its members and operated on a not-for-profit basis. SESLOC is celebrating 80 Years on the Central Coast and is known for being based on the credit union value of  people helping people. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in San Luis Obispo or Northern Santa Barbara counties.
