At SESLOC, we know that when natural disasters or unexpected events strike, the road to recovery can feel overwhelming. That’s why we offer a small-dollar, affordable Emergency Loans designed to help our members get back on their feet—quickly, easily, and without the usual hurdles.

However, please review our SESLOC Instant Funds loan option, which is available year-round.
Government Shutdown Emergency Loan
For SESLOC Members affected by the U.S. Federal Government Shutdown, beginning October 1, 2025.
The Federal Government reopened on November 12, 2025. The application period for this loan has ended.
Eligibility:
- Must be a SESLOC member in good standing for at least 90 days.
- Must be able to demonstrate impact from the U.S. Federal Government Shutdown, which may be a furlough notice or federal employment verification.¹
Loan Details:
- Loan amount: Up to $5,000
- Fixed Interest Rate: 5.00% APR*²
- Term: Up to 24 months²
- First payment due: within 90 days after loan inception³
*APR = Annual Percentage Rate.

Proof of eligibility, such as federal employee furlough notice or current paystub, is required at time of application. Applications for the Government Shutdown Emergency Loan program will be accepted up to 15 business days after the shutdown ends.

Term and payment amount based on loan amount. APR and terms subject to change without notice. Payment Example: A $5,000 loan, at 5.00% APR for 24 months, would have an estimated monthly payment of $219.36.

First payment may be deferred up to 90 days of loan funding. Finance charges will accrue according to loan terms during the deferral period. Conditions and restrictions apply. All loans subject to SESLOC Credit Union approval.
